Biography
Dr Julio Aguado obtained his PhD in 2018 from the European School of Molecular Medicine (University of Milan) as a Marie Curie fellow of the European Union where he investigated the role of telomere non-coding RNAs generated upon induction of DNA damage during aging. He has published several first-author papers on mechanisms of aging in journals including Nature Communications, Nature Aging, Nature Protocols and Aging Cell. Dr Aguado’s laboratory at the University of Colorado is centered in the study of human brain aging and how viral infections accelerate this process, including induced neurotoxicity and chronic inflammation.
