Biog­ra­phy

Dr Julio Agua­do obtained his PhD in 2018 from the Euro­pean School of Mol­e­c­u­lar Med­i­cine (Uni­ver­si­ty of Milan) as a Marie Curie fel­low of the Euro­pean Union where he inves­ti­gat­ed the role of telom­ere non-cod­ing RNAs gen­er­at­ed upon induc­tion of DNA dam­age dur­ing aging. He has pub­lished sev­er­al first-author papers on mech­a­nisms of aging in jour­nals includ­ing Nature Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, Nature Aging, Nature Pro­to­cols and Aging Cell. Dr Aguado’s lab­o­ra­to­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Col­orado is cen­tered in the study of human brain aging and how viral infec­tions accel­er­ate this process, includ­ing induced neu­ro­tox­i­c­i­ty and chron­ic inflammation.
